Now that summer’s here (finally!), you’re probably spending a lot more time out and about. Maybe you’re relaxing at the park or maybe you’re taking a weekend road trip. No matter how you’re spending the summer, you’re going to want a few travel sized beauty essentials so you can pack light, feel your best, and be ready for all summer has to offer!
And if you’re worried about going without your beauty products, remember that packing light does not mean you have to give up your beauty routine—it just means you need to simplify. Go for multi-tasking products and opt for travel sized products!
Travel Size Skin Care
Start with the Meow Meow Tweet Tea Tree Charcoal Bar Soap to cleanse your skin and remove any makeup and leftover sunscreen. This is a great cleanser for your summer skincare routine because in the warmer months, we tend to sweat more and our skin can become much more congested. This cleanser is made with gentle, detoxifying ingredients (like charcoal) to properly cleanse your skin and draw out impurities—all without stripping your skin of its natural oils!
If you’re a little nervous about using a bar of soap for your dry or sensitive skin, take it from me—I have super dry, sensitive, and acne prone skin, but I’ve been using facial bars for over a year. While you might think they would strip dry skin, the organic and nourishing plant oils provide an effective cleanse while leaving my skin soft and glowy! And the bonuses are that it’s a bar of soap so it’s better for the environment than a plastic bottle, it can be used on your body, and it can be cut into a smaller square to save room in your bag!
To tone and refresh your skin, reach for the Herbivore Botanicals After Sun Body Mist. While this was formulated to provide relief and hydration to sun-quenched skin, it’s made with ingredients that are very gentle, soothing, and balancing, so it’s great as a toner too.
For a little extra moisture and nourishment, keep the Graydon All Over Elixir Oil in your bag. You can use this multi-purpose oil for all kinds of things—as a cleanser, serum, face oil, moisturizer, cuticle oil, hair oil, and even as a shaving oil—which is why I love it for travel! In this routine, I recommend using it as a serum as the sandalwood, lavender, and chamomile essential oils are a great way to soothe any inflammation and irritation that can happen when you’re traveling!
To finish your on-the-go skin care, opt for the Ursa Major Fortifying Face Balm. This moisturizer has a very light texture, making it great for the warmer weather, but it’s still very nourishing, and it leaves my face feeling matte and comfortable.

Packing light does not mean you have to give up your beauty routine
Travel Size Skin Care Treatments
Depending on where you’re going and for how long, you might want to consider packing one of the Andalou Naturals sheet masks. If I’m stepping foot on a plane, you can bet I’ll have one of these with me for a little post-flight skincare ritual. I always reach for the Age Defying Lift & Firm Facial Sheet Mask to hydrate and soothe my skin. No matter how long the flight, my skin is always left soft, smooth, and super glowy!
Travel Size Hair Care
I have a pretty low maintenance hair care routine, but I know that travelling can always throw a wrench in it so I like to have hair care staples to keep things as manageable as possible.
I go for the Andalou Naturals Argan & Shea Deep Moisture Rich Shampoo and matching Conditioner. They’re both made with eco-friendly, cruelty-free, plant-based ingredients, and are sulfate-free and safe for coloured hair!
If you have oilier hair (like me), you might balk at the idea of using moisturizing hair products but I find that when my hair is properly moisturized, it’s much more balanced. I also think it’s a great idea for the summer as all the sun and water can take a toll on our hair.
If you want to give your hair a little bit of style and texture, reach for the Herbivore Botanicals Sea Mist Coconut Hair Texturizing Salt Spray. Made with soothing aloe, texturizing pacific sea salt, hydrating coconut, and beautifully scented vanilla and lime essential oils, this is a natural way to give your hair some texture without spending hours in front of the mirror!
Travel Size Body Care
Once you’ve got your skin care and hair care sorted, it’s time to make sure you’ve got the body care essentials.
Since you’ve got a bar of soap, you don’t really need a seperate body wash. But you will want a body lotion, especially after spending time in the sun, so reach for the John Masters Geranium & Grapefruit Body Milk for a light but moisturizing lotion that smells divine.
For deodorant (because that’s kind of important), you can travel light with a vegan, cruelty-free, and zero waste option from Meow Meow Tweet, like their Lemon Eucalyptus Deodorant Stick. This mini stick packs a punch with its nourishing, plant-based ingredients, incredible efficacy, and biodegradable packaging.
Indulging in your beauty rituals doesn’t have to stop when you’re out and about, you just have to reach for smaller products!
What are your favourite travel sized products? How do you maintain your beauty rituals on the go?
