Whether it’s organizing your busy family’s many activities or balancing work, a social life and precious time for yourself; chances are your schedule is busy busy! And with so many things on the go, healthy eating can take a back seat to other priorities. Sometimes it can feel like the only thing you have time for is snacking! Luckily, more and more grab-and-go snacks are healthy, organic and tasty. Bars are some of my personal favourites for quick snacks that provide a burst of energy when I need it most.
Granola & Energy Bars
Bars are some of my personal faves for quick snacks that provide a burst of energy when I need it most. Roobar organic energy and protein bars have some truly unique flavours such as rosehip, and are sweetened with dates. Nature’s Path Q’ia and Taste of Nature bars are my daily go-tos, but Simply Protein bars are great for kids and adults alike if you’re looking for a low sugar, high protein option.
Although not bars, Kewaza offers delicious energy balls that contain simple, organic ingredients and are made in Toronto! They’re also low calorie and so delicious.
If you have a penchant for chips and crackers, there are plenty of healthier options! Luke’s makes some great multigrain crackers and organic potato chips, and can be paired with Neal Brothers Organic Salsa. Organic popcorn is also great for tossing into a litterless snack bag, and Neal Brothers White Cheddar flavour is amazing.
If you like nuts and seeds better, Prana has a great bunch of organic snacks for you. They even include coconut chips which taste like a tropical vacay! And if you’re looking for truly healthy snacks, try Solar Raw Organic Ultimate Kale Chips or gimMe Organic Roasted Seaweed Snacks.
For a Sweet Tooth
If you can’t stay away from candy, try Annie’s Homegrown Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks or Veggie Go’s Organic Chewy Snacks. The latter contain vitamins that you’ll need throughout your day and are only 18 calories each! My faves are gummy bears, and I love that GoBio Organic Vegan Gummi Bears hit all my personal requirements — plant-based, gelatin free and organic!
