Like many others, I was very curious to see what all the celery juice craze was about, and I am so happy I did!
What is Celery Juice?
It’s exactly what it sounds like – juice from celery. Endorsed by celebrities like Miranda Kerr and Calvin Harris, it’s become a huge trend in the health and wellness space, so of course I had to try it!
What are the Benefits of Celery Juice?
The benefits vary widely, depending on who you talk to. Some argue that because celery is mostly water, you could get similar benefits from drinking more water. Others argue it’ll boost your energy, reduce bloat, and improve your skin.
How Do You Make Celery Juice?
There are two methods – juicing with a proper juicer or blending and straining. I chose the latter.
The steps are simple, I start with washing the celery and cutting them in smaller chunks so I can fit them all into my blender. I pour in enough water to cover the celery. After the juice is all nicely blended, I strain the juice through a finely meshed strainer (you can also use a nut milk bag) to make sure all the pulp was removed.
From there, I pour into a glass and enjoy! If you like celery, you will not mind the taste of the juice and I find it just tastes like water with a hint of celery (but this could just be me!). I started drinking anywhere from 10oz-12oz and worked my way up to the full 16oz as this is what some articles recommended.
To get all the benefits, it’s important to drink this juice in the morning on an empty stomach.
My Experience
I was amazed of the benefits I started to feel and see after about seven days of drinking celery juice each morning. I felt less bloated each day, had more energy, and saw immediate results in my skin. It has been such a nice way to start my day off with a great dose of hydration.
Celery juice is packed with vitamins like A, C and K, contains powerful antioxidants, and is said to help reduce inflammation, boosts gut health, help lower high cholesterol, amongst many other benefits! It has been a small addition to my routine with a huge reward!
What are your thoughts on the celery juice trend? Is this something you’d try yourself?
