How to Use Shampoo and Conditioner Bars…and Our Top Picks!

I’ve finally made the transition to shampoo and conditioner bars. At first, I was apprehensive. I wasn’t sure if they’d they lather, or if they’d clean and condition as well as their liquid counterparts. To my delight, they left my hair soft, clean, and tangle-free! The best part is I’m no longer creating waste with plastic bottles.

How to Use a Shampoo & Conditioner Bar

Shampoo and conditioner bars work just like soap! For both the shampoo and conditioner bars you create a lather in your hands, apply to hair, and wash as usual.  However, you can also run the bar directly through your hair to create a lather. I find applying the bar directly to your hair is the best way to use the conditioner bars to get an extra moisturizing effect!

After use, its best to store the bars outside of the shower to help them to harden and last longer. I keep my shampoo and conditioner bars on a soap dish. After washing my hair, I drain water from the dish and remove it from the shower.  Another important note is that if you are using both a shampoo and a conditioner bar, keep them apart so they don’t clump together as they dry.
