Essential oils are plant-based powerhouses with healing benefits and beautiful scents.

These versatile oils have been carefully extracted from the flowers, fruits, leaves, and even the stems of plants (source). Let’s talk about how you can use them in your everyday routines.

A little note before we get started: while they’re all natural, essential oils incredibly powerful and it’s always a good idea to keep safety in mind when using them. Do your best to avoid spilling or ingesting these oils, as they can be dangerous in large quantities. And if you’ve got little ones around, keep these out of reach.

You Can Diffuse Them

Diffusing essential oils is by far the easiest way to use them. All you have to do is pick a diffuser, add some water, and add three to five drops of your oil. You’ll be good to go for the next few hours.

You’ll instantly smell the oils and while you may not notice it right away, you’ll start to experience their health benefits, like breathing easier or feeling more calm (source).

Some of my favourite essential oils to diffuse are the bright, uplifting oils. They’ll improve your mood and make you feel cheerful. I also love diffusing lavender at night and eucalyptus when I’ve got a stuffy nose.

You Can Add Them to Your Beauty Rituals

If you look at your favourite products, you might see that there are already essential oils in them. Essential oils are amazing additions to products because while they offer healing benefits, like soothing skin, they also add natural scents without the chemical fragrance.
