Summer isn’t typically associated with burnout, but with travel, patio hangs and about a million events to catch up on post-pandemic, it’s no wonder a lot of us are feeling sluggish and looking forward to a slightly less overbooked Fall. But we don’t have to wait until the height of Pumpkin Spice season to start getting back to our burn-out-busting routines. Feeling Burnt Out? Try This

By focusing on the basics and carving some time out of each day and week for some simple unwinding routines, we can get back to feeling like ourselves and putting our best foot forward at every social engagement.

Sleep

Getting adequate sleep each night is vital to fighting burnout and helping you feel your best. Although getting ‘good’ sleep sounds illusive, a great place to start is by creating a nighttime routine for yourself to help you unwind from the day. Some recommendations would be to set a time to turn off all your electronics and to dim the lights in your room an hour before bed. Also, creating a bedtime for yourself and sticking to it will help signal to your body when it’s time to start winding down. For days you’re off your schedule (it happens) or you’re feeling worked up, the Olly Sleep Blackberry Zen can help. These melatonin gummies also have L-Theanine and botanicals, to help you boost your natural sleep hormone which will help you fall asleep easier

Baths

Especially when the temperature outside starts to drop, there is nothing like finishing the day with a nice warm bubble bath. Niyama’s Bath Salts Achy Achy Sore, will melt your tension away whether it was from a heavy workout or from a long day. These luxury bath salts have flakes of magnesium and dead sea salts that will make your baths feel like you are at the spa. If baths are not your thing – try adding another physical activity that evokes relaxation; yoga, meditation, or even some cuddles with a furry friend.

Happy Light

A tell-tale sign that Summer is ending, and Fall is on the way is that the days are getting shorter, which means we’re starting to enjoy less time in the sunshine and all the benefits it brings. One way to tackle those darker mornings or earlier evenings is using the Verilux Happy Light Lumi. Light therapy can improve your mood and your energy levels. It’s best to get light first thing in the morning when you wake up, for results that last all day. This can help you improve your sleep, focus and reset your circadian rhythm. You can use this during your morning routine and keep it on your desk while you work. PS. It also gives great lighting for your early morning meetings!

De-Stress

When life gets busy stress can be unavoidable. That’s why having de-stressors built into your life is crucial, whether that is going for a walk outside, writing in your journal or listening to music. One thing to add to your de-stressing toolbox is Scentural 100% Pure Essential Oil Aromatherapy Roll-On.  This roll-on essential oil will calm your mind and lift any tension that you have during a challenging time. Roll this on the inside of your wrists whenever you are feeling stressed and you will start to feel more relaxed and at ease.
