Everything You Need to Know About Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay is a cult beauty favourite. Celebrities like Mindy Khaling and Lili Reinhart have endorsed it, saying “it works!” and that it’s “amazing for cystic acne!”.
With celebrity endorsements, only one (natural!) ingredient, and an affordable price tag, this is a mask we can totally get behind. But what’s the big deal? Why is this mask so amazing? Let’s discuss!
What is the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay?
It’s bentonite clay. Pure and simple calcium bentonite clay.
If you’ve never heard of bentonite clay, you’re in for a treat. This type of clay is full of minerals from volcanic ash – think magnesium, calcium, copper, and silica! This mineral-rich clay carries a powerful negative electron charge. Acne (blackheads, whiteheads, even cystic acne!), has a positive charge. When the clay is applied to the skin it binds to the acne and draws it out of the skin. It’s kind of like getting a facial!
If Aztec Secret is just bentonite clay, does that mean you could get any bentonite clay and get the same results? Possibly. But when a spectrographic analysis is done on Aztec Secret, almost every mineral on Earth is present. You won’t find that in just any jar of clay.
How Do I Use This Mask?
Before you dive into masking, there’s one important thing you should know! The key to this mask’s efficacy is it’s powerful electron charge. Therefore, it’s really important not to mix your mask with metal, as this can reduce the charge (and the efficacy!). Instead, use a glass or ceramic bowl and a wooden spoon to ensure you get the most out of your masking session!
And one more thing! While this mask has become famous for it’s facial skincare benefits, don’t be afraid to use this mask anywhere and everywhere! We love it as a hair mask to cleanse and balance, and it’s a great all over body mask.
