Looking for the perfect weekend cooking project? Why not try making your own hummus? If you’ve never made hummus before, trust me…it’s way easier than you think! With the right ingredients and a food processor or a strong blender, you can be eating a batch of fresh, creamy, homemade hummus in less than 10 minutes!
This simple hummus recipe from Eden Organic is a great way to get started:
- 30 ounces Eden Organic Canned Garbanzo Beans, 2 cans, do not drain
- 1/4 cup organic roasted tahini (sesame butter)
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp Eden Umeboshi Paste, or to taste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 lemon, juiced and strain out seeds
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth and creamy, adjusting the consistency with a little cold water if needed. A quick, homemade version of this Middle Eastern favorite. We use umeboshi paste for added flavor in place of salt. Serve as a dip with Eden Brown Rice Chips, Sea Vegetable Chips, Vegetable Chips, Wasabi Chips or with warm pita bread.
