This rich DIY body butter smells like a decadent mint chocolate treat! Cocoa butter is a natural moisturizer that’s safe for all skin types, and peppermint oil is naturally uplifting, and invigorating.
Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups Cocoa Butter
- ½ cup Jojoba Oil
- 8 drops of Vanilla Oil
- 15 drops of Peppermint Oil
- A jar or other sealable container to store your body butter
Directions
- Warm cocoa butter in a double boiler on the stove until softened. When softened remove from heat, add jojoba oil, and let cool in the freezer for 30 minutes.
- Remove from freezer, add vanilla oil and peppermint oil, and whip on high using a hand mixer or standing mixer for 5-10 minutes (or until light and fluffy).
- Store in a sealable container.

Hi There! It should last for approximately 6 months from when you make it, so if you make it a while before Christmas your recipients will still have a good few months of use out of them! The natural oils in the moisturizers will cause the butter to soften if it’s kept in a warmer environment, but it’s still fine to use and you can firm it up again by putting it in a cooler spot.
I hope that helps! 🙂

Hi! I would like to make a few of these DIY’s as Christmas presents…if I make them and seal them in their containers…how long before they go bad? Can I make them a while before Christmas or should it be just a few days before?
Thanks!
