Want to be a healthier, happier version of yourself this year? Here are 5 easy changes that you can make to be healthier!
1. Get moving.
There are so many health benefits to having a regular exercise. It helps you maintain a healthy weight, boosts your mood, increases your energy, and helps to stave off or manage conditions like strokes, heart disease, asthma, type-2 diabetes, and more. Experts recommend a moderate workout for 30 mins 3 – 5 times a week, but if you’re not working out at all right now, start slower and build up from there. Find an exercise routine that works with your schedule (we love our CEO Rebecca’s at-home yoga routine and our CMO Erin’s at-home circuit), and that you enjoy doing and commit to making it part of your life.
2. Take a good multivitamin.
One of the easiest ways to be healthier! Even if you’re trying to eat healthy, it’s hard to make sure that you’re getting all the nutrients that you need all the time. That’s where a high-quality multivitamin comes in. It’s one of the easiest ways to fill any nutritional gaps you may have. We love Jamieson’s new Multis, because they’re tailored to your specific needs, and come in gummies (yes, for kids and adults), standard caplets, and even super easy to take drink mixes. It’s the easiest way to make sure you’re getting 100% of your recommended daily nutrients.
3. Eat more veggies.
This is one of the most important changes that you can make to your diet. When you’re cooking and preparing meals, try to make sure that half your plate is made up of veggies – they’re full of healthy fibre and nutrients, low in fat and calories, and help to prevent issues like strokes, type-2 diabetes, and heart disease. 4. Stay hydrated.
Our bodies are made up of as much as 60% water – so staying hydrated is key to good health. Drinking enough water helps you maintain a healthy weight, helps our skin and hair stay healthy, and keeps our bodies working as they should. For an easy change, commit to drinking a big glass of water every morning as soon as you get up. You can also dress up your water with things like fruits like berries and lemon slices are great and herbs like mint to encourage you to drink more.
5. Get a good night’s sleep.
Getting enough sleep is a crucial part of being healthy. According to the experts, you should be getting 7-9 hours a night. If you’re having trouble getting to sleep at night, try getting into bed earlier (even if you don’t fall asleep right away), putting a stop to screen-time at night a couple hours before you head to bed, and taking a melatonin supplement to help regulate your sleep cycle. We love Jamieson Melatonin Spray because it’s super easy to use, travel-friendly, and fast absorbing, so it makes getting better, longer sleep easy!
